The Singapore Wind Symphony Youth Winds  (SWS Youth Winds) was formed in November 2003, made up mostly of students from secondary schools and above. The musicians come from all around the country and of course, a diverse music background.

2 years after the inaugural concert, the band grew greatly in both strength and experience.  Faced with a number of challenging band repertoire ranging from mainstream band music to big band swing and to orchestral transpositions, the band gets exposed to many different genres of music from all around. 

The facilities, instruments, music libraries and the skills and experiences of the SWS main-band are readily available to the youth winds. With the facilities within reach and the tutorship and guidance of the main-band mentors, the youth winds are provided with ample opportunities to grow and develop musically.

In years to come, the youth winds strive to grow in experience and also musicality.
